DeKalb County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, change a record, or retrieve an official booking file. Direct those questions to the agency or court that created the record.
Where to Ask for Records
The right contact depends on the custody stage and the record type. These offices can answer official questions about their own records.

Headquarters hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except holidays. Use the Sheriff's GovQA portal for a defined booking record or photo request. The jail roster itself is at Inmate Lookup.
- For a booking record or photo, use the county-wide search and request path, then contact Sheriff Open Records. A photo request may require the O.C.G.A. ยง 35-1-19 affirmation.
- For a warrant question, call the Warrants Unit or issuing court. The warrant and wanted information page explains why the jail roster is not a warrant clearance.
- For a recent custody question, check the official roster. It is limited to present DeKalb Jail custody and hides booking photos.
- For a release alert, use the Sheriff's VINELink referral. VINE is a notification service, not a court-disposition source.
- For a City of Decatur police report, use Decatur JustFOIA. For Brookhaven Police, use the city's Police Open Records portal. Stonecrest currently relies on DeKalb County Police.
- For a sentenced state prisoner's record or institutional photo, use the Georgia Department of Corrections offender search or its Open Records office.
- For federal or immigration custody, use the BOP locator or ICE locator. Neither is a county jail source, and neither publishes a mugshot.
