Information You Submit
Search Queries
A name, location, or other term entered into a search widget is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. DeKalb County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's privacy terms control its handling after transmission.
Messages and Contact Forms
An email or contact message is kept long enough to read and answer. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law, a valid legal order, or a necessary service provider handling the message.
Technical Details Collected
When a page loads, ordinary technical information may be recorded by hosting, analytics, security, or advertising services.
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on each
- Referring website, when supplied
- Request timestamps
Cookies and Similar Tools
Cookies may help measure how visitors use the pages and remember basic settings. Browser controls can block or delete them. Some features may respond differently when cookies or related storage are disabled.
How Information Is Used
Collected information may be used to operate and improve the pages, keep them responsive, route a search request to the correct partner, understand which resources are useful, find technical errors, and display advertising that may match general interests. Search terms still pass to the provider that runs the search tool.
- Maintain page delivery and site security.
- Send search requests to the selected search partner.
- Measure visits and content performance.
- Diagnose broken links or technical faults.
- Support advertising and referral relationships.
Links to Other Services
Pages link to the DeKalb Sheriff roster, the booking-record request portal, DeKalb courts, police portals, the Georgia Department of Corrections, federal locators, news outlets, and other search tools. Once a visitor leaves these pages, the destination's privacy notice and data practices apply. Some advertising partners may track activity across different websites through their own systems.
Who May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold as a standalone product. It may be received by the following categories when needed to run the service or comply with law:
- Search partners that handle submitted queries.
- Analytics providers measuring page use.
- Advertising networks and related service providers.
- Law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order or legal duty.
Security Efforts
Reasonable technical and administrative measures are used to protect information. No internet-connected system is completely secure, so absolute security and a breach-proof guarantee cannot be offered. Avoid sending sensitive details through an ordinary message unless the receiving office specifically requests them through a secure channel.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor submits a message or other personal data, a parent or guardian may ask for it to be reviewed and deleted.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and reasonable identity checks, a person may ask what personal data is held, request correction of an error, ask for deletion, or object to certain processing. A request can be sent through Contact Us. Search queries handled directly by a third-party provider must be addressed to that provider as well.
- Request a copy of personal data held.
- Ask for inaccurate data to be corrected.
- Request deletion where no legal retention duty applies.
- Opt out of certain processing or communications.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised as the service, providers, or legal requirements change. A revised version takes effect when posted here, with an updated effective date where appropriate. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the updated practices.
